Zirconia Drawing Machine Tower Round , Wire Wheels , Reel.

1. Description:

Zirconia exhibits three crystallographic phases at atmospheric pressure: monoclinic, tetragonal and cubic. By alloying zirconia with oxides which are cubic at room temperature (i.e., MgO, CaO, Y2O3, CeO2, etc.), it is possible to stabilize the zirconia cubic phase at room temperature. If the amount of cubic addition is too low, metastable tetragonal phase is obtained. The presence of these 2 phases governs the properties of the resulting material. Indeed, on the one hand cubic zirconia is an ionic conductor, being at the origin of electro-ceramics applications (sensor, actuator); on the other hand, the transformation under stress of metastable tetragonal zirconia into monoclinic phase is at the origin of the well known “transformation toughening” phenomenon leading to huge increase of mechanical properties, particularly fracture toughness, for bulk zirconia (PSZ, TZP) and for composites (e.g., ZTA).
